Bloggers CAN make GREAT money if they produce high quality content that leaves the reader wanting more! This month I decided to take a HUGE leap of faith. After maintaining this blog for the past year and seeing traffic grow and the potential to reach even more people, I have enrolled in a course called Elite Blog Academy 3.0. The course was created by Ruth Soukup, Author of “How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul”. When I say I took a huge leap of faith, I mean it. We are currently focusing on paying off our credit card debt and paid off 6 credit cards last month, with 3 more scheduled to be paid off next week! Praise the Lord! So this course was an investment, and putting the cost on a credit card wasn’t an option, we cash flowed it and didn’t look back! I’m a firm believer in positivity and hard work, and I know that as long as I commit to putting in the work, that investment will come right back to me, tenfold!
EBA Success Stories
So how about some success stories? Y’all wanna know about real people who make money blogging, right? Here are some of my favorite success stories of graduates of Ruth’s Elite Blog Academy.
1. Nina Garcia-Sleeping Should be Easy
In April 2015, after blogging as a hobby for the past 5 years, Nina decided to monetize her blog and go “all in” on her strengths to grow her blogging business. At that point, the blog was earning about $10 a month from Amazon affiliates and the Google AdSense banners combined. She thought she might not be able to make a full-time income from it, but maybe the blog could earn a little bit more than $10. GoDaddy did a Q&A with Nina, and here are a few of the things she had to say about her growth as a blogger.
I set my goals high and aimed for $100–$200 a month. I just wanted to be able to eat at a restaurant or take the kids to a museum. To have some cushion so I wouldn’t have to deliberate over every expense. With only an average of $10 a month, I imagined a long journey to get to that $100 mark.
Within a month, Sleeping Should Be Easy earned $197.52. I knew it had potential — perhaps something I hadn’t seen in all those years. So, I poured myself into the site and worked hard. I put my design and marketing skills to use. I dedicated every spare moment I had to listening to readers and making the site as helpful as possible.
“A year later, that $197.52 grew and I was able to leave my day job to blog full time. I never set out to replace my job — I just wanted an extra $100 a month. Now, I’m able to do exactly what I want to do, a job that I enjoy so much I’d do it for free (and I did for five years).”
2. Kristen Larsen-Believe in a Budget
Kristen started out as a new student at EBA with just 1,000 pageviews and grew to over 160,000 pageviews in the first year! You can see her first income report as a blogger here. Spoiler alert: She made $60 that month! Fast forward to her January 2017 income report, and she made over $26,000! I am amazed at her growth!
3. Rosemarie Groner-The Busy Budgeter
Rosemarie Groner might just be my girl crush of lady bloggers. She started out making $18 per month and now makes a whopping $91,000 per MONTH on her blog. You can see all of her income reports here. Can you imagine the freedom that comes with being able to work from home (or wherever you wish), 10-20 hours per week, writing about topics you love. AND you get paid seven figures to do it? Incredible! I’ll say Rosemarie has been someone that I really admire in the blogging world. Just like me, she was working on her debt snowball and decided to take this leap of faith and budget for Elite Blog Academy.
Last But Not Least: Darren Rowse, ProBlogger
Darren Rowse is one of the original bloggers. He began blogging in 2002 and has been involved in/owned multiple different businesses. He’s someone bloggers look up to, for sure. In Darren’s own words: “ProBlogger is a blog about…. Blogging. Millions of people around the world have started blogs over the last few years, many of them are personal blogs but an increasing number are looking to use blogs make an income. ProBlogger is a blog that aims to resource these bloggers to make their blogs better and in doing so increase their potential earnings.” He goes on to say, “It has been almost two years since I’ve found training for bloggers that I’ve considered good enough to promote as an affiliate. I’m very fussy with who and what I promote (because there is so much hype and dubious practice in this space) but today have a recommendation for an authentic and valuable program that I know will help many ProBlogger readers.” For Darren Rowse, a highly acclaimed author, blogger, speaker, and entrepreneur, to endorse Elite Blog Academy, I knew I had to dive in.
I look forward to learning how to better serve my audience so that I can reach more people and help my family in the process. I don’t know if I’ll make $1,000 or $100,000 blogging this year. My future is up to me! But I joined EBA with a purpose to start writing with more intention and direction, and if it can be a vehicle for financial freedom, I’m all in!
Elite Blog Academy is a course that only opens once a year, and the doors have closed for registration. But you can get on the waitlist for next year! Have you taken EBA? Do you have a success story to share? Leave them in the comments below!
