You may have noticed that we’ve made a blog migration! MelissaBlevins.com is now
PerfectionHangover.com. This blog originally started as Perfection Hangover, but I struggled to get the tagline figured out. I am a perfectionist, after all, so it’s not a surprise that I’d overanalyze it until I eventually changed the URL to my name.
I made the change last year after seeing Lauren Greutman go from I Am That Lady to LaurenGreutman.com. It seemed like a great PR move. But I was always drawn to Perfection Hangover.
My friend
Robert helped me come up with an amazing tagline, “the sober truth about money, blogging, and business”, and while it was scary to make the move, I know it was the best decision.
Now the blog is a BRAND! This gives me such flexibility and removes ME from it. It allows me to focus more on the content. I’ll still be sharing money, blogging, and business tips for women looking to quit the 9-5 and start their online business.
Eventually, I’d love to create some merch, such as tees and tanks, hats, wine glasses, etc. Stay tuned for that!
What Does This Mean?
One of the cons of going through a blog migration is that I lost my domain authority. As a blogger, you build a reputation online with Moz and Google, and while I redirected all of my old posts to my new domain, I lost my incredible domain authority. This means that I’ll be working on building it back up in the coming months.
Thankfully, my content is still here and I’m able to keep my organic traffic from Google. 🙂
In Other News
I bought another blog! I’ll be launching a new blog that is solely about blogging! I’ll talk about how to come up with a great blog name, url research, keyword research,
profitable niches,
affiliate marketing, and more! If you want to be notified when it goes live, be sure to sign up for my email list! I’ll be emailing all of my subscribers with all the deets!
As always, thank you for your support and encouragement! Perfection Hangover wouldn’t exist without you showing up, reading, and sharing my content! I’m so grateful for you!
xoxo,
Melissa
Congrats and how’s the migration so far? Please keep us posted with your new blog.
It’s great! Traffic stayed consistent and my DA is bouncing back!
Glad to hear that! Are you still with Monumetric? It’s been two weeks and they haven’t installed my ads yet. I’m thinking of working with Ezoic now.
I’m still with Monumetric. They take foreverrrrr to get set up, but they are worth it! I haven’t had experience with Ezoic because I couldn’t figure them out. I tried downloading their plugin and verifying my site, but it would never work. My suggestion is to email your ads manager with Monumetric or just [email protected] and let them know that you’d like to be in communication throughout the approval process. It does take a while to get set up, though.
