My absolute favorite place to shop for furniture and home decor is Magnolia Lane Springfield IL. No, this is not a sister store of Magnolia Home in Waco. Magnolia Lane in Springfield has no affiliation with Chip and Joanna Gaines’ store, but they do have everything you need and more when it comes to high quality furnishings to update your home. They offer something for everyone, at every price point! From high-end, custom pieces to unfinished furniture that you can take to paint on your own, Magnolia Lane has it all.

This post is a bit different than my usual posts on the blog. I typically offer money, blogging, & business tips for women who want to take control of their finances and create a life they are in love with! But I wanted to showcase my local store and also share how you can find a local furniture store in your own hometown so you can avoid the “showcase” stores, such as Ashley Home Store. Those 5 piece living room suites are so 1990! What I love about shopping at your local furniture store is that you can purchase one piece at a time and mix and match different textiles and patterns to fit your own unique style. It’s also a bit easier on the pocketbook! 😉

When I stop in to Magnolia Lane Springfield IL, I am greeted with a friendly smile and warm atmosphere. The folks that run that place are just so friendly and really love helping people turn their house into a home! I’ve bought several pieces of furniture as well as light fixtures and accessories from Magnolia Lane. Here’s a photo of a buffet I purchased last year. It was already painted, and I believe I paid about $300 out the door for this piece! I have a very large living room, so I needed to fill the space with a larger piece.

We renovated our kitchen last year and this is the light fixture we purchased from Magnolia Lane Springfield IL for about $125! It’s so elegant, and I just love how it classes the place up. 🙂 Excuse my little model. She didn’t want to get out of the picture!

Favorite Furniture Pieces at Magnolia Lane Springfield IL

Some of the furniture is special ordered by Magnolia Lane, and some are one-of-a-kind, custom pieces. They also get regular shipments of Macy’s discontinued stock which they sell at a fraction of the cost! This is a great way to save money on sectionals and recliners! It’s a pretty safe bet that what you see today may not be there tomorrow, especially since they offer a 10% discount for cash and carry purchases! No coupon necessary! Just bring cash (which you know I love because it takes away the temptation to charge it on a credit card)!

See the note at the bottom: Sorry, checks and debit cards will not be considered as cash. Cash is King, y’all! Checks can be easily stolen, forged, or fraudulent. Debit cards are not cash (even though it comes directly out of your bank account). Businesses have to pay VISA and Mastercard fees to process debit card and credit card transactions. To avoid fees and make it better for everyone, they offer a cash discount. But don’t worry! They do have an ATM machine in the store if you forget to stop by the bank first.

How to Find your Local Furniture Store on Facebook

I first found Magnolia Lane Springfield IL on Facebook, believe it or not. Local furniture shops like this usually don’t have a big website. They might have an Instagram page and a Facebook page, and they post regular updates with photos of the newest inventory, along with prices. The girls at Magnolia Lane will even measure and answer with dimensions if a customer has a question! I truly believe their customer service along with a great selection at every price point are their greatest contributors to success. I won’t be shopping anywhere else, but since this store isn’t local to everyone, here’s how to find your local furniture store on Facebook.

Pull up Facebook and type in the search bar “your city + furniture”. You’ll see a list that populates. If nothing catches your eye, choose the bottom “See results for your city furniture”.

 

Now you can choose from the list of pages to see which ones might meet your needs! You can also join groups of local second-hand furniture. This is exactly how I found Magnolia Lane! Whether you’re shopping for small accent pieces, gifts, or larger furniture items, you should be able to find all that you’re looking for at your own local furniture shop. By shopping local, you’re supporting small business owners and the economy in your own city! As for me and my house, we will shop at Magnolia Lane. 🙂
